TACKLING TERMINOLOGY ISSUES IN THE FIELD OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Communicating science with common people in native language is most preferred. However, creating terminologies for new and existing words is a challenge to the science communicators, particularly in the field of Information Technology (IT), which is growing continuously at an incredible speed that the challenge seems to be almost unsurmountable. However, science communicators need to take up as a challenge the task of creating IT related terminologies for effectively spreading IT literacy in order to realise our goal of creating e-enabled work force. In this noble mission we need to take the help of IT professionals, linguists and energetic science communicators. It would be a painstaking, tedious, job — but once done, the next generation would benefit immensely from this endeavour. It has been found that the terminologies created by some IT MNCs are shocking. Organisations like ISNA should come forward as an effective forum to take up this noble mission.
