摘要

The last twenty-five years have witnessed an unprecedented progress in science and technology, an evolution in attitude and culture, and a transformation in economy and politics in India. Advancements in science and technology, especially in nuclear energy, information technology, space research, genetics and biotechnology, have offered great breakthroughs that have resulted in social and cultural changes. This book is a modest attempt to celebrate what we have accomplished as a nation in recent times, and how we envisage India in future. The articles presented pay tribute to some of these developments, as well as the impact they have had in ushering in a culture that allows people to feel more connected. The articles have been classified in four sections i) Energy ii) Communication iii) Science and Technology and iv) History and Culture which are some of the major driving forces that influenced our attitude and culture.
