Skin cancer is avoidable

Working outdoors is a necessity for many of us. My day job, for example, takes me out onto construction sites on a regular basis. The risks associated with the different types of role needing time outside are, of course, many and varied, from using tower cranes and mixing cement to delivering mail and tending to livestock. Yet, there is one risk that binds them all-the sun's rays. Office workers might look longingly out of their windows during the summer months as others go about their business in the fresh air and in full glare of the sun, but sunlight is the main source for ultraviolet radiation, and people exposed for long periods to LJV rays are at a greater risk of skin cancer.
