摘要

One of the most widely studied fields of research in recent decades is nanotechnology which involves the synthesis, manipulation and application of nanoparticles. Nanosystems have gained interest due to their distinctive properties which vary significantly as compared to the bulk material. Due to their unique properties, nanoparticles are used in a number of applications ranging from optoelectronics, memory storage units, electronics and biomedical applications. This review provides an insight to the production of nanoparticles using the green synthesis route, characterization strategies involved as well as recent applications of the biosynthesized nanoparticles in various sectors and future directions.
