As summer came to a close, all common grades of curbside fiber saw modest pricing gains. But plastic values were mostly flat, and PP dropped over 10%. The following prices reflect values seen on the Secondary Materials Pricing Index on RecyclingMarkets.net in mid-September 2021. The national average price for corrugated containers (PS 11) was up another $10 per ton month-over-month, reaching an average $171 per ton. The OCC grade was trading for about $60 per ton one year ago. Sorted residential paper (PS 56) was up another 7%, moving from a national average price of $109 per ton in August to $117 per ton in September. This grade traded for $38 per ton one year ago.
