Prices for OCC and aluminum cans continued to stay low as winter came to an end, and natural HDPE began experiencing a slump as well. The following prices reflect values seen on the Secondary Materials Pricing Index on RecyclingMarkets.net from mid-February to mid-March. The national average price for corrugated containers (PS 11) dropped another 10 percent during the month period, from an average $59.00 per ton to the $53.00-per-ton range. This compares with $88.00 per ton one year ago. Most high-grade papers also dropped 5 to 7 percent from mid-February to mid-March.
