The invention and proliferation of e-books continues to be a driving force in the changing landscape of the modern library. No longer constrained by brick and mortar, digital libraries are virtual collections of digital or digitized media that are accessible by real users. Much like their physical forebears, digital libraries come in many flavours: special collections, general collections, academic, public and so on. Based on their growing numbers, it is important to analyse digital libraries as if it is any other web-based resource.
