Within the new ministerial team at DfT (RB1422 p8), Secretary of State for Transport Patrick McLoughlin is responsible for overall strategy and high-speed rail. Transport Minister Simon Burns takes charge of rail strategy, including overall fares policy, HS2, international affairs and Europe. Transport Minister Norman Baker is responsible for rail, including commercial, operational performance and community rail, as well as light rail, smart ticketing, regional and local transport. Transport Minister Stephen Hammond is responsible for freight and logistics, London and Crossrail.
