DfT starts procurement of three replacement franchises

On December 19 DfT published the OJEU notices, prequalification questionnaires and supporting documentation for the replacement Essex Thameside (c2c), Great Western and Thameslink franchises. Consultation on the new Great Western franchise has already started, running until March 31, with a summary of responses to be published alongside the ITT in May. Implementation of recommendations from Sir Roy McNulty's Rail Value for Money Study is a theme running through all three OJEU notices.
