Procurement documentation for the replacement East Anglia franchise was published by DfT on February 19. The current direct award agreement with Abellio Greater Anglia runs until October 16 2016. Improvements expected to be delivered under the replacement franchise include shorter journey times, particularly for services into London. Bidders will also be asked to provide 'easier connections with London's transport network' at stations such as Liverpool Street and Stratford. DfT is also looking for greater service reliability 'with fewer delays and cancellations'. Communication with passengers during disruption (p3) should also be improved.
