Tarmac-hosted online event outlines net-zero opportunity

MAJOR construction and infrastructure clients recently attended a leading industry event hosted by Tarmac to discuss the technologies and behavioural changes that are needed to unlock the net-zero opportunity. The online event, 'A collaborative approach to sustainable, innovative construction', provided a multichannel opportunity to discuss the state of the UK road network, understand Tarmac's view of the transition to net zero, as well as debate the practical steps government and industry must take to drive clean construction and deliver net zero by 2050. Tarmac speakers, including sustainability director Dr Martyn Kenny and national technical director Brian Kent, discussed the findings of the company's latest clean construction research and the results of trials into anti-ageing asphalt technology - a collaboration with Shell and TotalEnergies to develop a range of new materials to extend the lifetime of roads.
