Vertical immersion pump for new aggregate recycling facility

North Ridge Pumps have supplied a pontoon-mounted vertical immersion pump to supply water from a settlement lagoon to a new, multi-million-pound, centrifuge-based aggregate washing/recycling facility at a UK quarry, to help meet increased demand for recycled aggregates. Imported construction waste with a large clay and silt content is put through the system, which utilizes a log-washer, vibrating screens, crushers, cyclones and a centrifuge, as well as a trash flotation system and high-frequency dewatering screens, to produce 100 tonnes/h of clean recycled products comprising 50mm, 40mm, 30mm, 20mm and 10mm aggregates and various grades of sand.
