Printing Inks Ordinance draft in Brussels' notification procedure since beginning of July

The German Printing Inks Ordinance ("21st Ordinance amending the German Consumer Goods Ordinance"), which has been debated and tweaked for years, was notified to the European Commission (EC) at the beginning of July. Although media reports say federal food and agriculture minister Christian Schmidt had announced in early June that he would put the draft ordinance through the formal notification procedure in Brussels within four weeks, the step has seemingly caught stakeholder circles by surprise. For instance, the German association of paint and printing ink industry (Verband der deutschen Lack- und Druckfarbenindustrie e.V.) says that it did not get to see the final version of the draft which was sent to Brussels in advance.
