BBC Radio 4's documentary, the Chinese Grand Tour, last month gave a fascinating insight into the mindset of the increasing number of tourists venturing outside China to the UK for the first time. The preferred mode of travel is by tour bus and, alongside the inevitable trip to Bicester Village, are lesser-known landmarks - for example, a willow tree by the bridge over the river behind King's College in Cambridge is a must-see. It is where Chinese poet Xu Zhimo wrote his poem, On Leaving Cambridge, one of the most famous in modern Chinese literature.
