Oxfordshire took a step closer last week to learning the fate of proposals for eco-towns proposed for the region.Two separate schemes had been touted for large-scale eco-towns: one near Kidlington and the other at Weston Otmoor, near Weston-on-the-Green.The government decided on 3 April that, of the two proposals, Weston Otmoor would go forward to the second of four stages in the process of determining which of 15 proposed eco-towns nationwide will be built.Parkridge Holdings plans to build 15,000 homes on more than 600 acres of farmland between Weston-on-the-Green and the junction oftheA34and M40. Parkridge itself declined to comment.
