CSXI, BNSF take on trailer service; win intermodal awards

Last month, BNSF Railway Co. and CSX Intermodal launched a transcontinental expedited trailer service between Los Angeles and Atlanta and Orlando, Fla.rnThe service offers customers improved transit times between California and the Southeastern markets, according to the Class Is. The trailer moves are supported by multiple line and facility expansions completed by BNSF and CSXI last year.rnThe two Class Is also received recognition for their intermodal services. BNSF Logistics L.L.C. was named the 2008 Fixture/ Construction Carrier of the Year by Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
