We have all heard the story: A once law-breaking action-by-whim teenager moves into the role of husband and father, and waits by the side of the table for scraps of excitement to drop off the edge. Gary Freudenberg, owner of this 1972 Camaro, had just such a journey before acquiring this beauty. In high school, Gary entertained his student obligations in order to attend his favorite class, advanced auto shop. At the time, he owned a hand-me-down 1961 Impala. He told his parents he needed to take the car in to adjust the valves, but instead replaced the engine with a pumped-up 302, four-speed trans, steep gears, and some drag racing slicks. He may have borrowed from his own college fund to build the car, but he assures us it was all worth it.
