A party of 41, including five Committee members, boarded a Giles Tours Luxury Coach and set off for the Stena ferry to Cairnryan. After a pleasant sea crossing our expert driver David conveyed us to our destination in the Lake District, the lovely market town of Keswick in Cumbria. The town is busy and bustling with tourists, many of whom are using it as a base for hill walking and trekking around the local beauty spots. We stayed at the Skiddaw Hotel, situated in the main street, named after a local peak, and a very comfortable, well appointed having friendly staff.
