USEC Inc. announced Sept. 7 anmajor “realignment” of its organization,nincluding eliminating the starcrossednposition of executive vice presidentnand chief operating officer and 43nother positions occupied by staffers atnthe company’s Bethesda, Md. headquarters.nThe announcement comes perhapsnjust weeks in advance of USEC’snannouncing a new president and chiefnexecutive officer. USEC’s Chairman, andninterim President and CEO JamesnMellor said the restructuring will allownthe new CEO “to hit the ground running.”
