Rusal signs agreement with China’s Eximbank

Russian aluminium producer Rusal hasnsigned a cooperation agreement worthn$850 million with the Export-Import Banknof China to finance Rusal’s greenfieldnproject in Eastern Siberia, the companynsaid Tuesday. The agreement foreseesnthe possibility of joint cooperation on thenfinancing of the project for construction ofna new anode factory in the Irkutsk Region,nSiberia. The main consumer will be Rusal’snaluminium smelters in Eastern Siberia,nwhich are able to meet China’s growingndemand for aluminium, Rusal said. Rusal’snfirst deputy CEO, Vladislav Soloviev, said:n“The construction of the anode factory inndirect proximity with the company’s mostngreen and technologically advanced unitsnwill further strengthen Rusal’s position innthe current competitive environment.
