Agriculture secretary Tom Vilsack, a key Obama administration official, has unveiled a series of initiatives designed to boost the use of ethanol and other biofuels, including funding the construction and installation of 10,000 "blender pumps" to dispense renewable fuels at retail gasoline stations across the country. However, despite the White House's latest pledge of support, some renewable fuels experts expect "Big Oil" to fight the initiative to shift the country from conventional gasoline to cleaner forms of transport fuels.
