Extremadura solar reaches 200-MW

Abengoa has begun operation of Solaben 1 and Solaben 6, two 50-MW parabolic trough plants at the Extremadura Solar Complex in Logrosan, Caceres, the largest of its kind in Europe, the Spanish company said September 30. The new units take site capacity to 200-MW - the first two were commissioned last year and are 70% owned by Abengoa Solar and 30% by Japanese Itochu.
