The circuit has a direct-current/direct-current converter e.g. boost type pulse width modulation converter, with an input for being powered by a solar generator (10). A control circuit applies an increasing power value to the converter, when a derivative of an input current of the converter with respect to time reaches a positive threshold. The control circuit applies a decreasing power value when the derivative of the input current reaches a negative threshold, where an average power change rate when the value increases is less than the average power change rate when the value decreases. An independent claim is also included for a method of conditioning a power source.
