AEP subsidiary seeks 100 MW of renewables; bids due May 30

American Electric Power last week took another step toward meeting its systemwide goal of securing 1,000 MW of new renewable capacity by the end of 2010. AEP's Appalachian Power Co. subsidiary, which already is under contract to buy 175 MW of wind power, on April 1 issued a request for proposals for another 100 MW of renewable energy. Bids are due May 30.
