Ending staggered terms for directors is making a bit of progress this year but, so far, the only company asking shareholders to approve ending them is CenterPoint Energy. Empire District Electric is putting up for a shareholder vote a "non-binding advisory proposal" on ending staggered terms. CH Energy, Central Vermont Public Service and Sierra Pacific Resources (for the second straight year) have shareholder resolutions — all by Gerald Armstrong of Denver — calling for ending staggered terms.
