Critical Reflection on Reversal Theory: Understanding Motivation to Fight

摘要

This commentary reflects on the Reversal Theory from a conflict resolution perspective. It points out that understanding what motivates individuals to fight or chose peace can contribute significantly to the study and practice of peace and conflict resolution. In that respect, it highlights a number of areas in which the theory could benefit conflict resolution scholars and practitioners. Rather than providing any answers, this commentary thus poses a number of questions to further enrich the conversation.
