摘要

Conflict, Mediated Message, and Group Dynamics is the second volume in a two-volume series published by Lexington Books exploring the links between conflict and communication. The first volume in this series, Approaches to Conflict: Theoretical, Interpersonal, and Discursive Dynamics (Lewandowska-Tomaszczyk, Wilson, & Croucher, 2017) focused on interpersonal and discursive aspects of conflict and communication, whereas the present volume shifts the focus of inquiry toward the role of group dynamics and mediated messages in framing perceptions of others and responses to conflict. The editors stress that there is no effort to organize the eight chapters in the edited volume around a singular model of conflict. Rather, the editors have been more eclectic in the organization of the book, with the first four chapters examining the theme of mediatization and the ways in which different forms of media transmission influence the perceptual framing of the conflict situation, whereas the last four chapters explore different dimensions of group and organizational dynamics in a range of latent or manifest conflict situations.
