Description. A man-portable anti-armor weapon. Sponsor. Saab Bofors Dynamics sponsors development of the MBT LAW as a private venture. The U.K. Defence Procurement Agency (DPA) and the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration (FMV) sponsor British and Swedish Army procurement. Status. Low-rate initial production (LRIP). Total Produced. Through 2010, we estimate Team MBT LAW produced approximately 107 MBT LAW developmental prototype weapons and 29,643 production weapons (for British Army procurement). Application. A man-portable, shoulder-fired, light anti-armor weapon, optimized for use by infantrymen on the move.
