Making Our Implicit Knowledge Visible

Capturing someone's expertise, insights, and intuition is the holy grail of knowledge managers; they want to collect the implicit knowledge of internal experts in order to pass that knowledge on to others. Questionnaires, interviews, job shadowing, and mentoring are all direct ways of learning from an expert. Various software providers claim to learn from experts by monitoring their activities, but there have been no real breakthroughs in tapping into the hidden intelligence within an organization.
