Coastal Georgia to get E-10 blends

Ethanol blends of gasoline will make their debut in coastal Georgia markets next week when Colonial Oil rolls out pre-blended E10 at its Savannah, Ga., terminal, sources confirm.rnColonial will still have conventional gasoline available at the terminal, which is the largest deepwater facility serving the state. Another terminal operated by Marathon is not yet offering ethanol, although sources believe that company will make E-10 available at multiple points later this year.rnColonial has the ability to receive ethanol via barge or inland delivery, so it could source its ethanol from domestic or offshore sources as markets dictate. It should also have ethanol blending some time this spring at Jacksonville, Fla., where it is working on some leased storage, sources add.rnRetail and commercial customers who pull from Savannah are urged to go through a checklist of items to prepare their tanks and stations for the switch to E-10.
