ExxonMobil has signed up former defensive lineman Howie Long for its credit card team. Long will promote the major's co-branded MasterCard in advertising and interviews with radio and TV outlets in metro markets, such as Atlanta, New York and Chicago. Long played 13 seasons for the Oakland Raiders, serves as a sports commentator for FOX Sports, and won an Emmy in 1997 for being an "outstanding" sports personality and analyst. He has been a spokesman for other products, such as Chevrolet and Campbell's Soup, although his performances have been the cause of some name-calling on the Internet.
