The typical gas station will need to give managers a 3.7% pay raisefor them to be exempt from federal minimum wage and overtime payrequirements, according to data from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureauof Labor Statistics. The numbers also show that gas station managers’ pay has failed tokeep up with compensation typically paid by other retail establishments, meaning a pay raise could be in order just to avoid losing managers to otheremployers amid the current labor shortage.
