Several new offshore support vessels (OSVs) ordered last year from Asian shipyards will be mobilised to Saudi Arabia next year to begin long-term contracts with Saudi Aramco. The size of the state energy company's plans for further offshore development was partially revealed in November. Italian offshore engineering group Saipem announced around US$1 billion of new contracts, with the majority of this spend in Saudi Arabia.
