Miller by Sperian has launched a new descender and lifting device for the evacuation and rescue of people in an emergency from high working places, such as wind turbines, antennas, high voltage transmission towers and cranes. SafEscape ELITE is said to comply fully with the new EN 341:2008 standard, which sets out demanding tests for rescue devices. These include 8,000m descent (16 x 500m) for 100kg load, maximum descent height of 500m, and suitability for use in an emergency by two people weighing up to 250kg.
