A guide to help medical professionals and employers understand the issues around the use of alcohol and illegal drugs in the working population has been published by the British Medical Association (BMA)1. Only one in seven workers have access to a qualified occupational physician, says the guide, and it is therefore important for all doctors to'understand employment aspects of the use of alcohol and illicit drugs'.
