Turkey Point-3 had its reactor vessel head replaced last year. Other FPL Group units have the same job planned for the near future. With The Completion Of the Turkey Point-3 outage last December, FPL Group's nuclear fleet achieved a milestone in replacing the first of four reactor vessel heads. A company subsidiary, Florida Power and Light Company, operates four plants—St. Lucie-1 and -2 and Turkey Point-3 and -4—while another subsidiary, FPL Energy, operates the Seabrook plant. This year, Turkey Point-4 and St. Lucie-1 will go through the process of replacing their reactor vessel heads. St. Lucie-1 will also replace its pressurizer during the same outage. St. Lucie-2 will wait until 2007 to replace its reactor head and steam generators.
