Thomas L. Sanders, 2009-2010 ANS president, member since 1987, and manager of the Global Nuclear Futures Program atrnSandia National Laboratories, has been appointed by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke to the U.S. Civil Nuclear Trade Advisory Committee. Serving as a representative of ANS and private sector organizations involved in the international trade of nuclear products and services, Sanders is charged with providing advice on the development and administration of programs and policies to expand U.S. nuclear exports and strengthen the competitiveness of the industry. His eight-month term will conclude on September 17.
