Dale Atkinson, ANS member since 2001, has joined NuScale Power as chief operating officer and chief nuclear officer, replacing Chris Colbert, who has moved to the newly created position of chief strategy officer. Atkinson comes to NuScale from Energy Northwest, where he served in a variety of roles since 1989, including manager of engineering, vice president of technical services, vice president of nuclear generation and CNO, vice president of operations support, vice president of employee development/corporate services, and, most recently, vice president of energy services and development. He has also served as a member of the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations' Executive Advisory Group, the Nuclear Energy Institute's Nuclear Strategic Issues Advisory Committee, and the Electric Power Research Institutes Nuclear Power Council.
