a detailed comparison is performed between the dependence of ultralong-wavelength (ULW) fields on distance (1-7 Mu), calculated with a model of the quiet lower ionosphere, and measured amplitudes of sig- nals transmitted by three radio stations of the Omega radio navigation system (RNS). Good agreement is obtained between calculated and experimental amplitudes of ULW signals versus distance for various latitudes of propagation paths and various illuminations of the ionosphere. Recommendations are given for the correc- tion of the propagation model for the period of sunrise at middle latitudes and for meridian conditions at equa- torial latitudes.
