The rising geriatric population is a key driver of the smart diaper market, which is expected to reach a value of US$1109.51m by 2025, according to Report Linker. Data released by the World Health Organisation (WHO) states that, by 2025, in Europe alone there will be some 119 million people aged over 65. This would be about 16% of the total European population. This would generate a need for smart diapers not only because of the high geriatric population but also to reduce pressure on the healthcare and old age care systems.
