In Warships for the King, Tobias Philbin provides a thorough and scholarly account of the role of Ann Wyatt from 1691 to 1698, in the construction of seven major warships included in William Ill's twenty-seven ship program built to protect England. Indeed, the Wyatt ships participated in the War of the League of Augsburg along with the War of Spanish Succession. Aside from advancing the knowledge of Ann Wyatt's role, Philbin also investigates technological issues associated with seventeenth-century shipbuilding.
