Faced with multiple gear reducer failures on two large cooling towers, an international power generation facility replaced 28 sets of rear reduction drives and supporting structure with new, upgraded equipment. A description of the unique nature of this large scale equipment replacement project provides the reader with several key steps to insure success on construction products of a similar nature.
