In its latest World Economic Outlook, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has trimmed its forecasts for global economic growth in 2015 and 2016 by 0.2 percentage points for both years from previous projections made in July to 3.1% and 3.6%, respectively, as "a return to robust and synchronized global expansion remains elusive." The new 2015 forecast compares with a prediction of 4.0% made in July last year.
