Western station improvements

While the operational railway undergoes enhancement and renewal, passenger facilities at many Great Western stations are being improved.rnImprovements are progressing at Paddington, where restoration of span four of the trainshed roof is due to finish late this year. The glass roof over platforms 9 to 12 has been hidden by a protective false ceiling since 1996. Daylight will illuminate the platforms after the renovation of metalwork and glass, mechanical and electrical equipment and various bridges and walkways.
