Four construction teams, made up of leading contractors based across Europe, have been put in charge of building the HS2 Phase One alignment. Between them they have been allocated seven packages of work. The companies involved, and their route sections, are as follows. Victoria Road box, located to the west of where Old Oak Common station will be built, is a key staging post for this part of HS2 with SCS Railways due to launch tunnel boring machine drives south, to emerge near the cleared DB Cargo site outside Euston, and north to create the Northolt Tunnels, which will be more than 16km long. Following the Prime Minister's endorsement of the Oakervee Review there remains some uncertainty regarding exactly how the new railway will connect to Euston.
