JO JOHNSON resigned as Rail Minister on 9 November, citing concerns about the Government's approach to the Brexit negotiations. Mr Johnson was appointed Minister of State at the Department for Transport in January, following a cabinet reshuffle by Prime MinisterTheresa May. The Orpington MP was responsible for the rail portfolio and was also appointed as Minister for London. Following Mr Johnson's departure, Jesse Norman has been promoted to the role of Minister of State, with Harrogate and Knaresborough MP Andrew Jones taking up the rail portfolio; he was previously a DfT minister from May 2015 to June 2017.
