摘要

Delay-tolerant networks (DTNs) are those networks which experience only intermittent connectivity between nodes. In a DTN there is rarely an end-to-end path between any pair of nodes. Message delivery is done on a store-carry-and-forward basis resulting in long and unpredictable round-trip times and potentially high drop rates. Theses network conditions break the assumptions upon which traditional data forwarding protocols are built. Whereas traditional internetworking protocols route a single copy of each packet from the source to its intended destination, single copy forwarding in DTN has proved to be insufficient without knowledge of the other nodes' future locations and contact patterns [1].
