According to reports from the Department for Health and the Department for Work and Pensions, around 140 million working days are lost each year due to sickness and 28 million to work-related illness, costing employers and the state millions in sick pay and benefits. We as employers are coming under ever-increasing pressure to implement strategies that aim to improve the health and wellbeing of our employees. We need to create a safe and healthy environment in which to work, but our responsibility extends into encouraging healthy lifestyles outside of work too.
