Access to services for its customers is a commitment that Havering is backing up with heavy investment. The most visible sign of this is the PASC - the Public Advice and Service Centre- located in Romford which was visited by 65, 272 people last year. The centre is equipped with customer relationship management and an advanced managed queuing system. Visitors can access not only council services but also the CAB, NHS, Inland Revenue, Pensions Agency, the Police and voluntary organisations, all with the minimum of hassle. Smaller PASCs are now being created in libraries in Havering's other town centres such as Upminster, Gidea Park and Harold Hill as part of a nearly £4 million investment programme.
