Whitehall lets bylaws be bylaws

Councils will no longer have to seek Whitehall approval for the introduction of new bylaws under plans outlined by communities secretary, John Denham, this week. Mr Denham announced he was to change the rules requiring councils to get CLG permission if they wanted to create new bylaws or revoke ones which were no longer needed in their locality.
